About Us

In 1983 I began commercial work in brick paving, largely subcontracting for major landscapers in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Since that time my business has been responsible for works as large as SeaWorld Nara Resort in Southport and projects as small as my clothesline path. Val Ockert and Associates has specialised in paving and large-scale rockwork for 23 years and established an impeccable reputation with clients and suppliers alike. Today we focus on quality residential work in the Byron Shire of Northern New South Wales.

Increasingly, even in the landscape business, internet exposure is important because many of our clients work on the net and find it easy to source information and conduct business online. This will only become more common practice. Because so many in the business don’t consider themselves to be net savvy or can’t see the value of being online, Landscaping Connections was established to offer a simple international database of people in the business making their talents more widely known and accessible.

Nearly 7 billion of us exploit and modify the planet to suit our needs and wants, not always thoughtfully or in our own best interests it seems. Landscaping is a primal pastime of rearranging rocks, soil and plants, which only in recent decades has become a major industry. It is no longer gardening alone but involves substantial construction and financial skills. Hopefully the industry strives to create low-impact environments, which yield maximum comfort, pleasure and food while requiring minimum energy use. These are the values that Landscaping Connections wishes to encourage.

We welcome new members, comments, criticisms and suggestions.

Regards,

   Val Ockert
